Upcoming Auditions

How to eat like a child

This musical romp through the joys and sorrows of being a child is hilarious. Children give twenty-three lessons in such subjects as how to beg for a dog, how to torture your sister, how to act after being sent to your room, and how to laugh hysterically. The pace is fast, the tone subversive, and the recognition instant.

Ready to Hit the Stage?

We always welcome new young performers and families to join our community and auditions are a great way to get started.

Preparing for an audition can be exciting and nerve-wracking at the same time, but with a little preparation and practice, you’ll be ready to shine. Here are some tips to help you prepare for your audition whether it’s at Accolade or any other theatre:

How to prepare for an audition

Read the audition notice carefully: Make sure you know the date, time, and location of the audition. Read the audition notice carefully to see what the theatre is looking for.

Choose a monologue or song: You will be asked to perform a monologue or a song during the audition. Choose a piece that showcases your talents and is appropriate for your age and the theme of the production.

Practice, practice, practice: Once you have chosen your monologue or song, practice it as much as possible. Memorize your lines and rehearse in front of family and friends to get feedback.

Dress comfortably. Wear clothes that make you feel confident and ready to perform. Don't wear a costume.

Arrive Early

Arrive at the audition location early to give yourself time to relax and warm up. You'll also have time to fill out any paperwork or forms that may be required.

When it's your turn to audition, take a deep breath, walk onto the stage, and be confident in your abilities. Remember, everyone there wants you to succeed!
